Portable Clean
Energy For Your Rving Needs
If you RV a lot, then you undoubtedly enjoy the freedom of
cruising around wherever you wish; but sooner or later you'll
need to find a place to plug in.
The beauty and attraction
of this type of free time activity is that it gives you the
chance to wander off the beaten path and to explore interesting
areas. However if you find yourself in an isolated spot, which
you often do if you RV, you'll need electricity to power your
laptop, cell phone, GPS or the appliances in your RV; this is
where generators come in handy, but these will eat through the
fuel and will pollute the surrounding area. And when you add the
cost for fuel, the classic generator option is becoming less and
less a good option; as a direct result of these factors many
people are moving away from classic generators entirely.
The
advancement of technology has infiltrated every aspect of our
modern life and the case of necessary portable energy has not
been left unattended. Some very important advancement has been
made in recent years in regard to portable solar
panel design. Solar panels are no longer used only to power
one's home, but a portable solar panel system can now be used to
power up your RV.
A portable solar panel for your RV is
pretty much a normal solar panel, like the type you may see on
peoples' roofs and in their backyards, only that they are
portable solar
panels. The area where they differ is that a portable solar
panel is considerably smaller but still capable of supplying
your energy needs. Even more, a portable solar panel doesn't
necessarily have to suffer from the same weakness as a home solar
panel because it doesn't have to convert the DC it produces
into AC. The solar
panels one uses at home need to covert DC into AC in order
for it to be used by appliances, but during this process power
is lost; well when it comes to a portable solar panel for your
RV it isn't necessary to convert the DC since the RV works on
DC, so you'll get more out of a portable solar panel if you use
it on your RV.
You will surely find that a portable solar
panel system will prove to be a worthy match for its gas or
propane counterparts, its advantages being that it is silent,
and the fuel needed is everywhere and free. Of course the
downside is that a portable solar panel system cannot produce
energy at night, so you'll need to do some minor planning for
your energy needs and charge your batteries during the daylight
hours.
Using a portable solar panel system for your RV is a
fairly simple process. You'll need between one and three
portable solar panels, but when you'll figure in your exact
energy usage you'll be able to determine how many you'll need;
asking the dealer will resolve this problem quickly. It is
advisable to mount the solar panel system on your roof, and park
in the sun so that the panels will get the maximum sun exposure
possible. However if you prefer to park in the shade you could
get a portable solar panel system that can be moved around on
the ground.
The energy that a portable solar panel system
will provide should be enough to keep your batteries charged so
long as there is sunlight.
